Etymon Projects, the team behind Loulou Bistro, Boulangerie & Traiteur; The Charles Brasserie & Bar; and Poetica Bar + Grill, will open a new all-day restaurant and bar as well as a kiosk-style café in Sydney’s CBD this spring. Located at 1 Elizabeth Street, Martin Place, the two venues are part of the vibrant new Sydney Martin Place Metro dining and retail precinct being delivered by Macquarie Group.

Martin 21 is a relaxed all-day, Mediterranean-inspired dining and a bar that spans two levels and overlooks Elizabeth Street. This 130-seater is set to be a go-to for central CBD midweek coffee meetings and lunches through to after-work cocktails and dinner.

Next door is little brother, Marty’s, a bustling kiosk-style café serving breakfast, fresh juices, coffees, snacks, and deli sandwiches. The focus is on takeaway however, those avoiding al desko can enjoy café-style seating for around 25 people.

Lisa Hobbs, CEO of Etymon Projects, says: “We’re thrilled to be a part of 1 Elizabeth, Martin Place – in an area set to be one of the Sydney CBD’s most exciting and vibrant dining precincts. We can’t wait to bring our talented team’s world class hospitality to this part of the CBD, which will be a hive of activity once the new Martin Place Metro and the 1 Elizabeth precinct retailers open.”

This announcement follows Etymon’s recent news that it is set to expand its North Sydney presence with the opening of a new hospitality precinct in the north shore suburb this June. Located at 168 Walker Street, the precinct includes Sol, a bakery, café and wine bar; artisanal providore, Una; a LA-inspired relaxed all day dining and bar called Soluna; and Japanese dining and drinks at Genzo.

Both Martin 21 and Marty’s are set to open in spring 2024.
